About Path2Work

What is Path2Work?

Path2Work offers free job search support for refugees in Switzerland. Path2Work gives access to a large database of vacancies provided by our partner x28. We generate occupation recommendations based on a tailored algorithm. We also aim to support refugee job seekers in other ways: Users can complete a language test in English, French, German or Italian, receive information materials about how to write an application and will be directly recommended to employers with suitable vacancies.

Why was Path2Work developed?

Even years after arriving in Switzerland, many refugees struggle to find suitable jobs. At the same time, the Swiss economy suffers, like many other advanced economies, from labor shortage across all skill levels. The Path2Work team wants to better understand the reasons for why many refugees are without jobs and has developed a tool to support job search: Path2Work supports refugee job seekers through occupation recommendations, language tests and application support.

What is the study about?

Path2Work is part of a scientific study conducted by the ETH Zurich and University of Lausanne. The study has two aims: to understand why refugees often struggle to find jobs and to understand if Path2Work can help solve this problem. Currently, participation in the study is upon invitation only.

Who can use Path2Work?

To use Path2Work, you currently need an invitation. Path2Work is tailored for refugees living in Switzerland, but we are planning to make Path2Work available to a wider audience in the future. If you are interested in using Path2Work and want an invitation, please join our waitlist by sending an email to path2work@ethz.ch. If you are not a refugee and are looking for a job, you also might be interested in our sister project Job4You.
